Job openings are for full-time positions working 5 days / 40 hours per week.  Compensation varies based on position, level of expertise, and experience.

Accessibility Specialist

Job Description

The Accessibility Specialist serves as a member of the Accessible Media Conversion Group performing accessibility assessments, remediation, and testing in Section 508 and WCAG. Advanced positions will have experience with Braille transcription and hold certifications (UEB, Nemeth).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conversion of traditional media documents into accessible formats: Braille, Large Print, Accessible PDF, Accessible HTML.
  • Prepare and review documents to ensure compliance with Section 508 and/or W3C WCAG accessibility guidelines.
  • Remediate MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and PDF documents.
  • Remediate HTML, utilizing software tools, to identify errors.
  • Use Assistive Technologies, such as screen reader software
  • Write accessibility compliant Alt Text (alternative text) and audio descriptions.
  • Stay current on Section 508 policy and federal agency accessibility checklists.
  • Ensure that format and quality of content meets established standards.

Conversion Specialist

Job Description

The Conversion Specialist serves as a member of the Accessible Media Conversion Group transforming documents into alternate formats.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conversion of traditional media documents into accessible formats: Large Print, Audio.
  • Ensure that format and quality of content meets established standards.
  • Development of structured documents and rule sets for media conversion and remediation.
  • Assist with other projects as required.

Required Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
  • Knowledge of markup languages a plus (HTML, XML, CSS).
  • Ability to manage versions of content and document changes.
  • Motivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects.
  • Organizational and administrative skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

Proposal Writer

Job Description

Writes proposals in response to specific RFP proposal guidance, focusing on the assembly/development of concise language, grammar, style, and consistency to ensure understanding of company’s products and services, and capabilities.Ensures compliant, compelling, and accurate responses to the requirements set forth. The function will also require analysis of concepts, gathering and determining the appropriate use of information, writing drafts, and securing approvals.

Capabilities

  • Develops proposals by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance and evaluation, as well as writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials
  • Follows proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone
  • Researches and analyzes historical data, and coordinates the development of cost models to support proposal efforts
  • Ensures proper contextual integrity of each completed proposal section
  • Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings
  • Obtains approvals of key staff as necessary
  • Identifies sources and gathers proposal information
  • Coordinates submissions and collections
  • Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and redesigning processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate; implements changes

Communications Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking high quality writers who are Content and Communications Specialists.  If you can research specific subject areas, key concepts, key ideas, or key questions and communicate that information effectively in a written format, then you are our ideal candidate.  Although the primary area of content creation is within the accessibility industry, other industries will also be applicable.  You will also be given opportunities to suggest, research, and write creative articles and content regarding accessibility.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Write a variety of material for content marketing platforms, including emails, white papers, newsletters, websites, landing pages, and articles to ensure exceptional quality of marketing materials.
  • Conduct web research and analyze pertinent information from discussions with in-house team members and external customers/subject-matter experts where applicable.
  • Distill researched information and translate into compelling and easy-to-understand language for a variety of audiences on the web via various media outlets including company website, newsletters, Facebook, twitter, and other social network engines.
  • Work as needed with graphic designers to develop layouts and information graphics based on written content.
  • Studies request, objectives, and audience and writes / resources content to appropriately respond to requests of organization.
  • Align summaries, introductions, informative subheadings, theme statements, action captions, and graphics within context of company strategy, objectives, and audience.
